Additive Manufacturing

Did you ever wonder why 3D printing is also called Additive Manufacturing? The answer may surprise you. Traditional manufacturing that mills, shaves, cuts and molds material such as metal, plastic, wood and even leather is known as Substrative manufacturing because it removes part of the original material. Our Laser Cutting & Engraving services are a great example of Subtractive Manufacturing.

Additive manufacturing, on the other hand, starts with the electronic design and produces the final product by adding layers and layers on top of each other that result in the prototype, display prop, part or model.
